Description : Announced a second virtual instrument, SH2 Plug-Out, simulating a monophonic SH2 analog synthesizer. The new SH-2 uses analog circuit technology, reliably recreates the warm, rich sound of the original, which can only come from Roland.
In the late 1970s, synthesizers experienced a transition period with the development of polyphony and memory. As global synthesizer manufacturers sought to develop these new technologies, Roland launched a seemingly basic monophonic synthesizer – now the classic SH-2. Although it was released around the same time as Roland’s JUPITER-4, the pioneer of polyphonic synthesizers, the SH-2 functionality was rather conservative compared to the JUPITER-4 functionality. But its uniquely designed configuration, consisting of two VCOs and a sub-oscillator, which essentially gave it three VCOs, was capable of extremely bold and warm analog synthetic tones. To this day, many synthesizer fans feel that it produces the most amazing bass sounds of all time.
