XnView is a graphics viewer. The program is based on the Gfl SDK which defines its capabilities. XnView can perform graphics operations such as cropping, resizing, gamma-contrast-brightness-balance, printing, allows you to apply various filters to the image and do much more on files, and all these operations and filters (in any combination) can be applied immediately to a large number of files, and presets can be saved as scripts and used later.
To view PS/EPS/PDF/AI files, you additionally need to install the GPL Ghostscript (usually recommended AFPL Ghostscript project (last version 8.54 dated 05/29/2006) has not been developed since June 2006 and does not provide the program in its entirety.). It is recommended to download the latest version from SourceForge.net (the official file download resource of the Ghostscript project) using a browser to generate a link (to http://sourceforge.net/ servers for load balancing are automatically selected, and the link is issued to the least loaded server of a geographically distributed cluster of servers sourceforge.net).
The program has powerful tools for working with files – preview, thumbnails (small copies), support for files with descriptions, automatic creation of a list of files, copy / paste files through the clipboard, viewing non-graphic files, Drag & Drop support and integration with the operating system .
In addition to its main functions – high-quality display of graphics and its conversion from one format to another, the program also has many additional ones – working with a scanner, creating html pages with graphics, counting the colors used in the picture, and even such a seemingly small but useful option, how to set a picture as wallpaper on your desktop. Finally, XnViev allows you to capture images (full screen, active window, or custom area) and also has a separate utility for using almost all of XnViev’s features from the command line.

There are five variants of XnView:

Standard – the usual contains the main modules that ensure the operation of the program. Compared to the Basic version, it has more functionality.
Full – Full contains most of the modules and plugins, also contains a wrapper integration library for Win32 systems. For Win64 systems, this library must be downloaded separately from the official website of the program. Does not include some language modules, plugins and tools.
Zip – complete without installation – in a Zip-archive, contains everything that includes everything that Full, but also additional languages, plug-ins and tools, the Harrys Filter module in this distribution has an original (author’s!) directory structure – all templates have they are in the Presets subdirectory and not in the general heap – the module looks for them there first of all, additional Web templates and a number of other changes. This increases the size of this archive compared to the Full version.
U3 is a special delivery option for U3 flash drives. Part of the modules from the archive is excluded, in terms of capabilities it is approximately equal to the Standard variant.
