Description: Unique, inspiring sounds from an Oscar-nominated composer
This versatile toolkit was co-developed with Oscar-nominated world renowned composer and sound engineer Volker Bertelmann (Haionchka (Lion, Adrift)) to bring incredible depth, tension and texture to your notes. Discover unique soundscapes ranging from industrial-sounding percussion beats and thunderous bass to quirky, atonal plakas and beautiful, shimmering pads. Played on the epic Steinway with over 40 experimental preparations and expert multisampling at the legendary Berlin-based Voxton Studios, we have transformed Hauschka’s signature sound palette into an interactive and inspiring instrument ready to showcase your own creative ideas. Featured in our sophisticated Evo Grid and Mercury synths, mix and match multiple signal options, from FX, Distorted, Modular Pedal Delays to Binson Echorec, or choose from 50 presets created by the Spitfire team for endless combinations of instantly playable sounds.

Our collective goal was to capture the world of sound and the creative spirit of a true innovator, based on Volker Bertelmann’s 30 years of experience as a pianist and Oscar-nominated composer. With Spitfire’s sampling expertise, the best recording equipment and the groundbreaking Evo Grid technology, we give you access to a unique set of cutting edge sounds designed and designed for sound engineers, allowing you to create your own new instruments. Hauschka’s vision was to give someone the opportunity to collaborate with him and his ideas: “Creative exchange is essential. If you don’t have one as an artist, you find yourself in a very boring place. I always try to work with people who take me to new territories. ”

Berlin’s legendary Vox Ton Studios (where we recorded our famous Olafur Arnalds Evolutions library) is the recording location for some of Europe’s most famous composers, from Johann Johannsson to Dustin O’Halloran. Each sound was professionally recorded by the Spitfire team led by producer Harry Wilson, with Vox Ton engineer and longtime Hauschka employee Francesco Donadello, who was instrumental in setting up each sound. Although performed on a traditional Steinway D grand piano, most of the sounds are far from the original instrument.

From concept to recording, we worked closely together to perfect and expand the tried and tested equipment used in his existing work, recording both single notes and rhythmic performances. Hauschka’s approach to writing and sampling is “chance mixed with intent”: a journey into the unknown. With this in mind, we have provided ample room for experimentation during the recording process by moving the piano to places where it has never been.

Hauschka’s signature, multifaceted sound is born of his endless fascination with the interaction between existing instruments and other materials and textures. Inspired by the sounds of nature, the sounds of Hauschka are chaotic, unpredictable and never repeat themselves twice: from sharp and noisy to melodic and tingling in the spine, the combination of which creates convincing results, unlike the minimalism of its predecessors.

The Hauschka Composer Toolkit is unlike any other piano, as each finished sample is available as an organic sound, and multiple signal options give you additional control to drastically change the sound of each sample. Use Francesco’s modular setup effects, Hauschka pedals, Spitfire distortion, and Binson Echorec (delay recording made famous by Pink Floyd in the 70s)
The library is divided into six sections, four of which are represented in the Evo Grids: “Plug Hits, Plug Rhythms, Pad Sounds, Pad Hits, Swells and Drum Kits.” Each is different in sound – from rhythmic hits to thunderous bass, from steady notes to atonal beats – but they are designed to complement each other when combined together. We also give you 50 presets created by the Spitfire team for added inspiration. Plug Rhythms are created by playing rhythms while objects such as tea candles and ping pong balls bounce or bounce off the strings, creating dynamic layered textures. Other items used range from reed saxophone to toy drums, tambourines to an old tape recorder, and light filters to wooden pegs, creating a huge assortment of new instruments. Both Evo Grid layers and multiple waveform options give you endless possibilities for each sound, with different results for each user.

Our interactive and intuitive Evo Grid technology makes this library much more than just a collection of samples – a variety of editable parameters allow deep customization, and each setting gives you the tools to create your own unique piano. Our bespoke comprehensive Grid user interface positions “pins” across an 11 x 12 on-screen grid with access to entries at 12 intervals. Instantly choose which sound is in each of these 12 tonal ranges, or explore endless possible combinations using the built-in randomization functions.

This tool is for any avant-garde-inspired composer or any sound engineer looking to explore new sonic territories – perfect for creating texture layers, creating tension and adding surprise to any composition. Sounds can be applied to a wide variety of compositions, from electronic music to orchestral scores. With over 40 original presets, 50 flagship presets and 16,000 samples, you have access to almost endless combinations of thousands of sounds and a whole new world of inspiration.
