Description: We’re back at Studios La Fabrique for another chapter featuring the prestigious team of Dave Pensado and Jacen Joshua! Together they mix the song “Playa” by Carol Suki, with Jacen building the foundation and Dave polishing the vocals. We get to work, and Joshua immediately goes to the main thing – improving the clarity, legibility and overall impact of the material. He goes through every part of the session, comments on the tracks, and instinctively begins to cut, compress, gate, and more. Using common plug-ins and simple techniques, Jacen transforms the mix in an amazing way, making it louder and more detailed, while maintaining a tension almost identical to the rough. Pensado then takes the helm for a detailed demonstration of how to create “expensive” sounding female pop vocals. You’ll learn how he changes levels for clarity and emotion, applies effects, applies modulation as pitch correction, and more!
