The Talkback Limiter is an aggressive limiter. Carefully modeled from a real-life model, our Talkback Limiter has the character that made it so popular for drums. We’ve added additional controls to make it more versatile.
The Talkback Limiter, first used on a vintage British recording console, was the drum sound throughout the 1980s and is still a staple in recording today. Originally designed to protect control room loudspeakers and staff from loud noises through a studio communications system, this messy and heavy limiter is ideal for adding a lot of energy to any transient signal.
Our Talkback Limiter has advanced functionality to make it more versatile than the original and useful for more than just drums. It adds punch to the bass tracks, emphasizes the attack and detail of the guitar, and adds boldness to the vocal tracks.
