XTComp is equipped with different ratios, each of which functions as a separate compressor with its own attack, release and knee characteristics. Depending on the settings you use, you can recreate the sound of an LA-2A or 1176. Boost the tone of your recordings with DIST modes that introduce 2nd or 3rd order harmonics, emulating the dynamics of tube or tape equipment.

UK mode provides aggressive all-button-in compression, creating the legendary pump and breath effects heard on many major recordings. This mode is a tribute to classic British compressors, renowned for their unique character and ability to add density and energy to tracks. It’s ideal for achieving classic, bigger sounds on drums, vocals and more.
Taming harsh signals with a sidechain and saturation filter
The XTComp sidechain filter filters out low frequencies, delivering convincing detail and smooth analogue sound. By adding an analog saturation circuit, XTComp allows you to add tape-like harmonics and high-frequency compression to your recordings. Soften fragile, thin and harsh sounds with analogue warmth.
Use digital-only features for more control than hardware
Kiive Audio has taken this compressor to the next level with features only available through plugins. Dual mixing controls are provided for the compressor and saturator modules, allowing for parallel processing. A Gain Link switch has also been added, making it easier to compare levels in A/B mode.
