The hardware version of the Bettermaker Bus Compressor uses an all-analog path with settings that are saved and recalled digitally, which has made this device widely popular among professional mixing and mastering engineers. While the Bettermaker Bus Compressor plug-in sounds very similar to the hardware, it is a bit more forgiving and surgical, allowing you to de-esse vocals and hi-hats. Additionally, the VCA Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) control creates additional harmonic content, subtly saturating your music.
The filter and sidechain signal amplification avoids the pumping effect:
When processing bass sounds, many compressors often respond too aggressively to low-frequency transients. As a result, unwanted pumping effects may occur. The Bettermaker Bus Compressor includes a side-chain high-pass filter and a mid-range boost feature. Use these features to enhance percussion and sibilance in vocals.

The Bettermaker Bus Compressor plugin has peak and RMS detection modes, making it an incredibly versatile compressor.
