The instrument was recorded in a modern concert hall environment using a set of microphones on the overhead shelves (from DPA, Coles, AKG) located next to the piano and further in the room. We have carefully mixed these mic signals into one stereo mix. The result is a well-balanced and versatile sound – spacious enough not to sound boxy or claustrophobic, yet dry enough to offer the flexibility of adding as much or less reverb as possible.
