Description: Capsun ProAudio, in partnership with Arthouse Acoustics, presents VHS Villains: Doomed Tapes. A unique collection of retro samples inspired by the sounds of early noughties alternative and underground hip-hop, exemplified by the enigmatic and enigmatic figure: MF Doom. The sample-oriented sound eschewed the traditional east coast vinyl aesthetic and took a different approach to sample sourcing, instead delving into the world of late β80s and early β90s TV music through dusty and warped VHS, cassette tapes, and budget lofi samplers. Includes motifs and themes inspired by talk show title music, easy-listening saxophone, sitcom and soap opera themes, and corny television commercials. These wholesome, mainstream, all-American sounds are villainized into a rebellious underground rap soundscape.
This pack contains full melodic stacks, live re-sampled music, plus guitars, saxophone and keyboards to give you complete control. Weβve also included a new drum kit, providing just enough lo-fi to accompany the tunes.
