Sometimes the wildest ideas are the best and Screamo is proof … of a crazy concept that just works! We moved the distortion to the next level, combining several familiar ideas into one plugin, with the result that a talk-box / screambox appeared that can add a groove to your track.
Forget about complex sound routing and syncing multiple LFOs. Screamo has a special waveform editor that can modulate resonant filters, distortion and amplification to liven up any sound. Pull the bass lines out of the shadow with a slight movement or make the synth line scream with rhythmic acceleration – the choice is yours.
Parameter Smear – Two resonant shelf filters give an effect similar to the current box from modest to full effect. You can switch 3 different effect styles: upmultiply, upmixing, or bi-directional modulation.
Drive Parameter – Use the Drive control to make your percussion loops crunch or synths cut through the mix. Add to your signal the effect of fine saturation to extreme overload. Soft, medium and hard distortion styles can be activated.
Synchronize everything – Smear, Drive and Makeup controls are synchronized together, which allows you to create time-synchronized effects that are usually very difficult to achieve using regular plug-in routing. Use the bottom row of Shape, Speed and Smooth knobs to create a waveform by controlling the 3 parameters in the top row. It is possible to create a slow-moving talk-box effect or a crazy fluttering overdrive.
All in One – Use simple controls to create an effect in your individual style, or use the built-in presets to convert the sound with one click. 25 factory presets are designed to quickly launch and work with settings that vary from subtle saturation to wild, overloaded rhythms. All of them are easily accessible from the plugins menu and, of course, you can save your own settings as user preferences.
