Description: Solina and her friends This library is based on 62 vintage synthesizers.
String Machines 2 is a true creative archive that brings iconic vintage tones from the 70s back to life. 62 string machines, spanning nearly half a century of innovation, were collected from around the world, then restored and recorded to create a unique instrument: String Machine 2. The result of several years of work, String Machines 2 takes and expands on the original collection by exclusively including many rare sounds cars
The architecture and graphical interface have also been redesigned. You can also create new sounds for keyboards, pads, brass, bass and piano with the analog warmth of vintage synthetic strings. Based on 46,000 sound samples, 355 presets were created to serve as the basis for your creativity. The versatile two-layer architecture also allows you to easily combine sounds from multiple machines to create your own hybrid tones.
In the 1970s, leading keyboard designers attempted to reproduce the sound of orchestral strings using analog synthesis.
Although these sounds were very far from the original expectations, they eventually found their niche not because of their similarity to orchestral instruments, but because of the very warm fills that these instruments were most often played on. The words Strings and Pad have become almost synonymous.
Today, most of these synthesizers are already extremely rare.
Six years ago we released String Machines, a collection featuring the sounds of 11 of these iconic synths. Today we are returning with 51 additional vehicles. Explore classics like the Solina, Freeman String Symphonizer and Elka Rhapsody, as well as extremely rare models including the Yamaha SK-50D, Logan Vocalist, Jen SM2007 and more. Many of these machines were particularly difficult to find, and many were inoperable, requiring extensive restoration and repair work. But the result was worth it, and String Machines 2 became both an impressive archive and an inspiring tool.
Each of these vintage string machines has been carefully inspected, tested and calibrated to ensure performance as close to the original as possible. After spending many hours identifying the distinctive tones, unique qualities and strengths of each machine, our sound engineers captured them using professional-grade DI boxes, hardware processors and converters. To obtain optimal sound, each audio sample was cut and processed by hand before mastering. A variety of instruments, both in age and in origin, have the subtle character and originality of another era. Thus, String Machines 2 provides a rich and particularly expressive sound.
String Machines 2 offers two separate audio layers so you can easily layer the 842 built-in synth sounds. These machines, originally designed to simulate acoustic strings, offer very interesting combination and modulation possibilities. With String Machines 2 you control the ADSR amplitude envelope, multi-mode filter, tone, stereo, LFO, step modulators and arpeggiator for each machine. You’ll be able to change presets or create completely new sounds with complete freedom. The effects bus lets you add the finishing touches; it includes EQ, Overdrive, Thorus, Phasor, Delay, Sparkverb, as well as Roland RS-505 overall effect modeling.
