Description :
Unity Support Package:
– Unity 5.6
– Unity 2017
– Unity 2018
– Unity 2018 LW SRP
– Unity 2018 HD SRP

This pack contains 8 PBR mountain spruce trees in 47 prefabs. (26 standard prefabs + 21 Vegetation Studio add-ons). Trees can be placed in the forest (special versions of forest trees) or as standalones. All trees work great with the unified landscape and the Vegetation Studio system (split prefabs). They are carefully optimized and created from scanned data. Trees have low overhead, use drawcall and are very cheap to render. All trees contain very advanced wind shading. Trees can be dynamically snowed, this feature also gives you the ability to adjust the amount of snow on the trees in static scenes.

We have prepared 3 types of trees:
– normal: where 4 of the 8 trees have 2 bark for a cold mix on the bark
– cheap, where all trees have 1 bark material (less drawcalls) and all trees can use the same leaves and bark. This means that 8 types of trees will be collected together (very low breaks for the whole forest).
– normal with snow
– cheap with snow
Please download the 2017 version on Unity 2017+ and 5.6 on Unity 5.6. Shaders for trees are compiled separately for both engine versions (Unity changes). Set to linear rendering or adjust (reduce colors) for gamma.
An increasingly cheaper version of the trees could be loaded, so that drawcall usage would be significantly reduced even when using 8 tree types in a scene.

In our package you will find 4 aspects:
1) Different stages of trees:
– plant
– small
– Medium
– 2 large autonomous
– 2 forest trees (less than three and shadow on the ground)
– dead tree
2) Tree texture group (compressed to Albedo/Alpha; Normal, Metallic/AO/Smoothness) for cheaper gpu rendering and less memory usage:
– snow set (5 textures)
– 7 bark sets (24 textures)
– leaves (3 textures)
– 8 cross texture sets (24 textures)
3) Shaders:
– All shaders support vegetation studio created indirectly out of the box
– 2 cross shaders (no snow, snow)
– 4 neck shaders (metallic, metallic snow, specular, specular snow)
– 4 shader sheets (metallic, metallic snow, specular, specular snow)
– snow is dynamic so tree can be covered at runtime
– dynamic realtime update of snow in vegetation studios needs additional script to access VS copied materials
– you can adjust snow amount and snow distribution by 2 values (snow amount, snow).
4) Advanced and cheap in shading rendering:
– new wind system that generates epic result, available from 1.5.v of this package.
– wind will be shared between all our assets
– wind works 1:1, like in HD SRP

LOD’S Spruce Trees and Triangles:
Plant:
750/340/8 (cross)
Small:
3900/1800/900/400/8 (cross)
Medium:
10000/4100/2100/1000/8 (cross)
Large Autonomous:
16000/9000/5000/1300/8 (cross)
Forest:
7000/2800/1400/400/8 (cross)

All textures are high quality from scanned data. Resolutions range from 1024×2048 to 4096×4096. They look very good at lower resolutions too. You could match them to your targets. Since the trees have common materials and drawcall textures and the gpu usage is very low, it’s good to have high resolution textures because they don’t cost much.
Note: We recommend using forest trees in the forest for best lighting and performance, and standalone versions on the forest edge and sometimes inside the forest. This setup will give the best visual and performance results.

Note2: In our screens we used our: Advanced Foliage Pack (grass and ground textures), Advanced Rock Pack (rocks and rock shader), CTS (landscape shading) and 3rd party assets: Enviro (sky and light), Vegetation Studio (foliage system)
Note3: LOD0 can be used in archviz, even with LP for this type of project they look very realistic. The scanned data and sculpted details give a realistic look.
Note 4: Forest video demo is available under this LINK
