The bass drum is the basis of many modern musical genres, both electronic and acoustic.
A well-treated barrel has a warm low sound, it does not seem too angular and pushes the mix in a very natural way. When designing the KickBox, these are the qualities we focused on, simplifying the processing of any modern bass drum.
KickBox simulates analog filters and very clearly separates certain frequency bands. KickBox can help you get your barrels sounding very tough, in just a few clicks.
The plugin can be used directly on mono or stereo tracks. For most electronic drums, it’s best to use it first or somewhere at the beginning of your chain of effects. However, for live acoustic bass drums, it may be useful to use a shelf equalizer to achieve a common frequency balance before applying KickBox.
We developed KickBox to process bass drums, but since there are no rules in music, we decided to experiment with other source materials and found that it also has many other interesting uses when they are used on other low-frequency instruments such as bass guitar, tomes and other types of percussion. Why do not you experiment a bit?
