This clever effect will add extra shine to your mixes, tires or individual tracks. HIKU can have only three controls, but under the hood there is an exact combination of processing designed to add heat, power and clarity to any sound signal. In addition to great sound on individual tracks or groups of tracks, HIKU is an important element in any mastering chain.
HIKU processing is divided into two lanes. You can control the frequency of this separation with the help of a frequency disk. Both low and high bands are processed using saturation for character, parallel processing for punch and control and editing stereo fields for clarity. Algorithms on each side of the frequency division are adapted to the different needs of processing low-frequency and high-frequency sound.
The center Mix parameter controls the amount of the HIKU effect that is applied to the signal. Set it to low levels to subtly flavor the sound, and press it to higher levels to return life to flabby sounds.
Use the top left gain control to compensate for any level changes made by HIKU or to bypass the plug-in processing to compare the signal before and after processing.
