Description : Quantum 2772 Evolution is a true algorithmic stereo reverb inspired by the legendary algorithm of the German room simulator and offered here for the first time in plug-in format.
The Quantum 2772 Evolution reverb algorithm is fundamentally different from other reverb simulators, offering unrivaled realism and depth.

More
How is the Quantum 2772 Evolution plugin different from the original German room hardware simulator from the 1990s?
The underlying Quantum 2772 Evolution plugin’s main room simulation algorithm sounds similar to 1990s hardware and is capable of nulling down to -80dB at certain settings, while still offering

more and more new features:
Hardware in the 90s used Motorola DSP processing chips to improve cost efficiency and increase in size compared to original hardware in the 1980s. While there were many benefits to this modern DSP processing, the built-in linear phase FIR filters of the day were often criticized for giving the sound a slight metallic effect. For this reason, we have retained the basic character of the original filters while improving the design, making it smoother and more reminiscent of the original analog filters from the 1980s.
The sound underlying the algorithm of the original German room simulator from the 1980s hasn’t changed much. The fundamental difference between the original equipment and subsequent generations is due to its operating sample rate of 20,000 Hz and, to a lesser extent, its analog-to-digital converters and analog components. As higher sampling rates were used in subsequent generations, the resonant modes of the room were gradually shifted higher. The original equipment from the 1980s offered different room sizes, while the equipment from the 1990s (and the Quantum 2772 Evolution) is fixed at one room size.

Why don’t plugin parameters (like reverb time) change continuously?
As with the original equipment, the parameters of the Quantum 2772 Evolution do not change continuously. While some parameters of the underlying algorithm are formally consistent across all reverb times, others are programmed to be specific to a given reverb time. In a sense, each reverb time is its own “unique” algorithm. Also, like many legendary hardware devices, there are a number of “quirks” and “bugs” that contribute to the unique character of the sound.

Performance
Why is CPU usage higher than some other reverb plugins?
In general, the Quantum 2772 Evolution algorithm uses a huge amount of parallel computing. In the original equipment, this design manifested itself in the need for a large number of components and an extremely high price (over $10,000 in the 80s). Since many other reverbs use different matrix methods and common processing, running a single instance of the Quantum 2772 Evolution can be compared to running nearly 100 low CPU reverbs.
How can I improve processor performance?
There are a few things you can do to reduce the use of the Quantum 2772 processor. If your sources are more “mono” in nature (solo instruments, vocals, etc.), we recommend setting the stereo correlation (Corr.) to “0”. This will immediately reduce CPU usage by about 40%. Then experiment with setting RT60 Low and RT60 High to “1”. Finally, consider setting the bandwidth to 20kHz (full) and using your own EQ filtering before or after the plugin.
Is your software compatible with other DAWs or older versions?
Our products are currently compatible and tested with the latest versions of Logic, Cubase, Nuendo, Reason and Ableton (Mac). Compatibility with older versions or other DAWs (AU and VST) is possible but not officially supported.
