“In this package, I wanted to create a more organic direction for this series, drawing inspiration from the rich culture of ancient Norwegian history, touching on the occult, warlike and contemplative aspects of their way of life. Musically, I tried to catch their fervid and vivid emotions – different in each part, using the versatility of the sound character of a cello. Although the desire for historical accuracy and authenticity was an advantage in everything, I also wanted to create a sound that would be modern, and therefore went on a hybrid style of sound design for synthesizers, sabs and pads to improve acoustic performance.
Continuing my approach to building scenes in films, concretizing each part in physical space and atmosphere, I wanted to go even further – and, given the largely acoustic nature of this package, decided that a great way is to create custom IRs from various unique and distinctive spaces, and then process all the performed musical and vocal elements respectively. “ – Lhasa Mencur
