Description: Output Thermal is a multi-stage interactive distortion with 19 signal distortion algorithms
One of the most flexible solutions for distortion and saturation of the audio signal.
Output Inc. claims to have gone beyond what is possible in the realm of virtual saturation and signal distortion. The developers confirm their claims with the release of the new Output Thermal plug-in, which the company positions as “interactive distortion”.
The novelty offers a multi-stage engine capable of performing not only traditional distortion processing and signal saturation, but also distort the signal in a more flexible way. The program interface provides a circular XY pad that is directly linked to the distortion parameters, which gives access to 250 effect options.
For those who do not have enough simple effect settings, the developers suggest looking into the advanced parameters section. With a dedicated display that displays the processed signal waveform, users can control the distortion more clearly. Additionally, it is possible to adjust the envelopes and modulation, as well as add other effects. In total, users can choose from 19 analog or digital signal distortion algorithms.
“If you are familiar with the developments of Output Inc, then you know that we like to put the usual things upside down,” – said the head of Output Gregg Lerman. “We think using distortion can be less mechanical and more creative. Distortions should inspire new ideas. ” Well, that’s the way it is – Thermal looks out of the box and offers an unusual approach to working with distortion.
