Description: Powerful logic operations for SketchUp Make or Pro. BETTER RESULTS Guaranteed Than SketchUp Solid Tools or FREE! About 20 months before SketchUp Pro 8 released Solid Tools (back in December 2008!), the original BoolTools plug-in for SketchUp was released. This tool provided an inexpensive way to perform some basic logic operations and worked with both SketchUp Make (free) and Pro. After all, Pro Solid Tools didn’t exist yet, and no one even knew SketchUp was considering making this long-requested feature.
The original BoolTools plugin was really helpful and helped fill the need for the SketchUp toolbox for years (especially for Make users). However, it definitely had some limitations, especially when it came to dealing with smaller complex objects.
Successful Boolean operations depend on high-precision 3D intersections, which SketchUp’s internal geometry engine struggles with at times. Even Pro Solid Tools struggles with this problem. This is why so many Solid Tools users have adopted the copy and scale workflow to prevent the Solid Tool from crashing.
Pro Solid Tools also has some other longstanding limitations that we’ve improved with BoolTools.
Peculiarities:
• Union, Difference, Intersection, Trim, Split
• Designed with 3D printing in mind to work with small complex objects (no more scaling workarounds!)
• Works with nested bodies!
• Doesn’t create new components! The original component is modified as expected.
• Saves the layer and names of the first selected object
• New “Merge Single Objects” tool (click on one group or component to merge all nested solids within it)
• In almost all cases, results in the creation of solid objects for 3D printing (if the original objects were also solid).
What’s new
Official changes since Bool Tools 2.1.7:
Version 2.1.8 (August 25, 2022)
• Updated the license system to reduce activation issues and various license issues.
• Dropped support for SketchUp 2016.
Instructions :
0. Uninstall any previous version of Bool Tools (if any).
1. Download the following extension:
