Description :
Modwave Native Wavetable Synthesizer A powerful synthesizer with distinctive wavetable timbres, Kaoss Physics and Motion Sequencing 2.0.
Released in 2021, Modwave builds on the legacy of DW and turns it into a modern monster synthesizer with
incredibly deep wavetable oscillators, gorgeous filters, incredibly flexible modulation,
a sophisticated pattern sequencer and macro controls for creating unique, powerful and easily customizable sounds and phrases.
What is a wave table?
Wavetables are sets of single-cycle digital signals arranged in a specific order. The “position” of a wavetable determines which waveform is played. Moving the position with an envelope, LFO, or other modulation source produces subtle or abrupt changes in timbre. Some wavetables switch abruptly from one waveform to another; others fade smoothly between them. Modwave can do either.
Modifiers
Use over 30 modifiers to change the character of any wavetable at load time. For example, isolate odd or even harmonics, add weight with quantize or saturation with smoothing, or revisit the gritty character of old-school wavetable synths with the Vintage 8 and 12 options.
Transformation
13 Morph types let you stretch, compress, reflect and otherwise alter wavetables in real time, changing their timbre and – when modulated – creating additional movement in the sound. Sync creates classic sweep-sync timbres using just one oscillator. Three special Morph types – FM, AM and Ring Mod – modulate Osc 2 with Osc 1, and the last two even apply to samples.
A/B mix
Using a unique A/B mode, the oscillators can blend any two wavetables with phase-locked precision – as opposed to simply layering voices – opening up the dimension of intermediate waveforms. For example, add body to “subtle” waveforms, or a bit of hiss to a soft timbre. Even fade between two different “modifier” versions of the same wavetable. Of course, the A/B blend can be modulated in real time.
Changelog v1.2.8 :
◉ When moving a plugin’s knobs and sliders in Ableton Live, Live could send the resulting parameter changes back to the plugin out of order. Previously, this prevented knobs and sliders from moving smoothly. Out-of-order feedback is now ignored.
◉ A change in FL Studio 24 caused namespace collisions, which in turn caused plugins to crash. This has now been fixed.
◉ When an updated version is detected, the download link now uses https instead of http. Previously, using http would result in a security warning in Chrome browsers.
~ Known Issues ~
Ableton Live: Program changes are slower than expected for VST3 instruments in general, on both Windows and macOS.
The slowdown is more noticeable for plugins with a lot of automatable parameters, including modwave native.
On macOS, we suggest using the AU version of modwave native as a workaround. Ableton is aware of this issue.
