Description : Vintage Folk Rock Kit is a terrific set for folk rock or indie rock of the 60s / 70s. We used the engineering skills of legendary engineer / producer Phil Brown (Laura Marling / John Martin / Rolling Stones), whose in-depth knowledge of recording groups during these years helped shape the sound of the set. The kit used was the beautiful old set of Ludwig Hollywood in 1966 and was created by the legendary drummer Martin Oldham. To guide us about the sound of the kit, we used drummer folk specialist Martin Barker (Rufus Wainwright, Richard Hawley, Catherine Williams), who tried the kit using chopsticks, hot keys and brushes, which effectively give you three sets – nice!

Phillip Brown (John Martyn, Bob Marley, The Rolling Stones, Talk Talk, Led Zeppelin) Phill’s idea was to create a 1960s drum sound with a modern twist. It’s a deadly room. He used only a few microphones placed around the kit, and a mono overhead. All of the mics were recorded through API mic pre’s.

1966 Ludwig Hollywood Kit. It was once used, but it has two rack toms rather than just the one. These are beautiful sounding kits. 1967 wooden Ludwig Snare owned by Martyn. We also include some tambourine and shaker articulations.
It comes in the form of a full version of Kontakt 5.5. It is included in the instrument. Each channel has an EQ and Transient Master. It is a randomisation of the drums. The kontakt pack comes with 57 separate articulations, 24 velocity steps and includes 5 round robins. In this kit (like our vintage Gretsch kit), we’ll find out how to mix it. You can control the balance of the 3 kit microphones. This means the Kontakt pack comes loaded with an incredible 16400 samples.
What is the Kontakt 5 Pack?
Drumdrops Kontakt Instrument. This new instrument has been designed and rebuilt from the ground up. This is a step-by-step ordering v-drum midi map section. The instrument provides control of each of the drums with the inbuilt mixer. It is used to record the kit on each drum. It gives you absolute control. The instrument also has been chosen as a standard for the retrospectives. There is no need for multiple rounds. Each channel has a 4 band equalizer, a compressor, shape feature and tape saturation. The stereo buss comes with its own compressor, limiter, EQ, Crush and image tools. It comes with a selection of MIDI maps including V-drums and the DTX900. However, it also allows you to customize your kit perfectly. It is not a kontakt player.
