Description : Main innovations of Corona 14:
3D Gaussian Splats: a method for reconstructing real-world objects and scenes from photographs or videos with a high degree of detail. This opens up new possibilities for creating highly realistic scenes and simulating natural phenomena.
Night Sky System: a night sky generator with the moon, stars, and the Milky Way. Users can manually adjust the position of celestial bodies or select a real-world location, date, and time for a fully realistic rendering.
AI Tools: integration with the Chaos Cosmos and Chaos Cloud cloud services, which provide AI-powered tools. These include the AI Material Generator, which creates physically based materials and textures (albedo, normal mapping, and roughness) based on regular photographs, and the AI Upscaler, which enables image scaling by 2x or 4x using neural network technologies.
Procedural Fabric Material: a new node for creating fabrics and fibers without the need for texture maps. It automatically generates fibers, weaves, and surface displacements, significantly simplifying the creation of textiles.
Workflow Improvements: Volume performance has been improved, the interface is more responsive, and new visualization tools have been added to the Viewport Frame Buffer (VFB) and Image Editor. The ability to send cameras from a scene to Vantage, an application for interactively inspecting large production scenes, has also been added.
3ds Max users now have support for Avoidance Groups in the Chaos Scatter tool, preventing scattered objects from intersecting when working with multiple layers.
