Description : Gimbri is a plucked string instrument
The Gimbri is a three-stringed bass covered with skins that originated in Morocco. It is actually a lute that produces deep, but also somewhat harsh and earthy tones due to its wooden body and goat gut strings. Often compared to a bass guitar, the Gimbri brings depth to music due to its low dynamic range.
The focus was on capturing the Gimbriβs various articulations while maintaining its organic, warm sound. Traditionally finger-played, we recorded it muted, with a pick, and through an amp to provide a wide range of tones. It comes with five presets, while the possibility of customization remains open.
