To anybody who missed the 1970’s, I extend condolences 🙂 It was the beginning and end of HUGE revolution in music; music that deliberately stoked interracial hostility was extremely rare, with Gil Scott Heron’s “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” pretty much the anthem.
Somewhere on the best part of the FM radio dial (should anyone be old enough to recall what an FM radio dial was)—the numbers below about 92–a station in Washington, D,C, USA had a really cool weekly show by a cat named “Black Fire”. He used an echo unit as he announced upcoming and just-played songs and generally spoken material where he wanted to emphasize certain points……
“I AM THE FYAH (fyah fyah fyah fyah fyah………) BLACK (fyah fyah fyah fyah fyah)………)”. You’ll often hear in Dub style what I’m talking about 🙂
