MotionBuilder 2019 Release Notes (January, 2019)
This release contains improvements to the Story window, Character Controls, and Baking, as well as a new Clean Up Scene tool to help you reduce file size. There are now configuration options to let you suppress the Character Controls window, and several updates to the SDK. Refer to the links below for more detailed information.
Autodesk has released MotionBuilder 2019, a new version of its Motion Capture playback and editing software, adding a new Clean Up Scene tool to reduce the size of archived files. The release, which also includes an update to the Story Window, Camera Switcher, and character controllers, came out on the same day as Maya 2018, Maya LT 2019, and Mudbox 2019. New features in MotionBuilder 2019 include the new Clean Up Scene tool, which automatically removes empty or unused objects from the scene to reduce file size. Of the existing features, the Story Window has been updated, which received support for editing ripples, that is, ripples, as well as the ability to synchronize the length of the frame and the associated movie fragment by stretching, rather than looping, one or the other. Camera switcher, also known as Camera Switcher, used to compile images from several types of cameras, has acquired a new look, while the list of cameras is displayed on a separate panel; plus the ability to combine multiple clips and move them as one. Also added was the ability to save Pinning Set-Up settings as presets, and new options in the Translation tool, Transport Controls, and texture baking options. The update also introduces support for FBX 2019.5, the latest version of the Autodesk FBX file format used for loading animation data or exchanging it with other DCC software.
