Year/Date of Issue: 08.2016
Version: 5.0
Developer: Ardor
Developer site: ardour.org/
Bit depth: 32bit, 64bit
Interface language: English
Tabletka: Cured
System requirements: Any 32 or 64 bit Intel-compatible computer (non-Intel hardware can be used if you build Ardor yourself or have someone else build it for you). CPU speed limits the amount of signal processing you can do. Any version of Linux with a kernel newer than 2.3 and libc version 2.25 or newer. This applies to almost any Linux distribution released in 2009 or later. 2GB is recommended, more is always better, OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) to OS X 10.11 (El Capitan). Note that Ardour is an “unsigned application”, so later versions of OS X will ask for extra confirmation the first time you run it.

Description: Digital audio workstation.
The recording capabilities of Ardour are only limited by the hardware it is running on. It has no built-in software restrictions. When recording occurs, Ardour can automatically compensate for latency by positioning the recorded material where it should have appeared when it was recorded. It is possible to run Ardor on hardware separate from hardware that has an audio interface.
Ardour supports an arbitrary number of audio tracks and buses and a system to route anything to anywhere. All volume, panning and plugin parameters can be automated. All mixing operations and sample storage procedure internally are performed in 32-bit floating point format to ensure high precision and fidelity.
Ardour supports shifting, trimming, splitting and time stretching of recorded sections with sample-level resolution, and also allows you to layer areas of audio data. The program includes a flexible fade editor and a tempo recognition tool. The program can save a history of changes along with the project so that changes can be undone and redone when the project is reopened.
Ardour supports exporting an entire session or parts of a session, as well as importing audio snippets into a session from over 30 different audio formats. This can be done from the built-in file database manager or directly from the file browser.
