The product is aimed at users who are looking for a powerful functionally comprehensive vector editor and at the same time simple and intuitive – not distracting from the work with the complexity and intricacies of the interface.
Keeping all the advantages of Illustrator CS2, the CS3 version has received new features. The main ones are:
- Live Color – With Live Color you can discover new color combinations, try them out quickly, and then save them for later use. You can preview the changes in an illustration by changing its entire tone using the color wheel, or simply changing one color as carefully as possible.
- Swatches Palette – Save a color group to the Swatches palette and get quick access to your favorite set of colors.
- Isolation Mode – Use Isolation Mode to protect parts of your artwork from being edited. You can confidently group,
hide, lock, and swap layers, knowing that isolated parts of an illustration won’t be inadvertently changed. - Control palette – The tool you need to complete a task is always at hand thanks to the Control palette, which
the most suitable tools for this task are displayed. You access controls
anchor points, selection tools, clipping masks and distortions using the shell from the palette at the top of the screen. - Path Editing – When points are selected, the Path Editing Tools are displayed in the Control Palette. You can
work faster and call markers with one click. - Highlight points – When you hover over any anchor point, it is enlarged, making it easy to spot and select it. The cursor looks like a large square in place of the dot.
- Point Alignment – Points can be aligned and distributed in the same way as objects. When selecting multiple points in the palette
“Control” appears the entire row of alignment buttons. You can even align the points to fit the artboard or crop area. - Eraser Tool – Quickly remove parts of an illustration as easily as erasing pixels in Photoshop. Just click
mouse or stylus any shape or set of shapes. - Crop Area Tool – Create a variety of crop areas with both standard and predefined
characteristics. You can quickly create one-page PDF documents cropped to your liking, allowing you to save illustration variations for display.
