This XR IR pack is based on our Blankenship™ Carry On 2×12 combo with Gold Alnico [16 Ohm] drivers. Described as “no EQ required,” the amp uses these incredibly large Gold Alnico drivers that seem to jump out at you. There is no such thing as a perfect driver, but they are called gold for a reason. This pack includes 9 different dynamic, condenser, tube, and ribbon microphones positioned in 4 different positions throughout the speaker in single and multi-mic configurations. Each single mic IR kit includes 3 options: Unaltered Mic, Enhanced, and Top Boost, giving you both raw and studio-tuned tonal options for the ultimate IR experience.
This IR kit is part of our new XR IR Collection [XR = Extreme Realism], which is the result of countless hours of IR speaker experimentation, development, and A/B testing. The XR Collection is our newest and most accurate line of impulse responses we have ever created. When compared to a cabinet with a real microphone using the same amp, it is difficult to tell the difference. We are proud to say that these impulse responses provide the most accurate reproduction of a cabinet in terms of timbre, feel, breakup quality, and harmonic information when in use. Unlike our previous Tone Matched IRs, these IRs are universal and can be used on any platform that supports IR loading and do not rely on specific amp settings to sound correct. Included in the package is a Tone Factor Starters folder with 10 hand-picked IRs from the pack to help you get started quickly.
