Description: The Splice Originals team teamed up with Jason Matthews on keyboards and Justin Andres on guitar to create the foundation for songs that can be sliced. Matthews and Andres worked remotely on each other’s ideas, swapping melodies and riffs back and forth until they had finished songs. We then resampled and re-sampled their files as if we found them in a dollar bucket of vinyl records. The result is a mix of dark funk, lo-fi hip-hop and cinematic soul. In addition to keyboards and guitars, you’ll find hip-hop drums that make it a complete toolbox for creating understated tracks.
