Description: A self-sounding large bell.
Recording these bells was not easy, but we loved it. These are real bells on the clock tower that weigh up to half a ton on the largest site, so this is a very powerful sound that we captured in every detail. Once we were able to get these large bells to the studio (using heavy lifting equipment), we started recording them with two different types of hammers.
While strong and sustained tones are perfect for dramatic hits here, we’ve also recorded many softer beats that can sound extremely melodic when played at lower velocities.
With built-in sound shaping and reverse articulation options, our carillon is far more versatile than we might have imagined.
The instruments were recorded in our dedicated AMS studio, and when played together, they shine with a cohesive tone, creating one of the most musical and magical collections we have ever recorded.
