Description : The PSP Impressor is an incredibly accurate, full-featured, high-precision compressor designed to process entire mixes, busses, or single tracks. The PSP Impressor emulates the magical classic characteristics of compressors with valves and opto-electronic circuits, as well as classic modern compressors. The PSP Impressor also features a customizable side chain. The side chain filter has a significant impact on the sound and performance of the PSP Impressor. Depending on the sidechain filter settings, the filter also allows the compressor to be used as a de-esser or to reduce the pumping effects of heavy kick drums and the like.
PSP Impressor also works very well in combination with the PSP saturator. By having a PSP Impressor in front of a PSP saturator in the signal path (think of it like putting a bus compressor in front of a tape recorder), you can use both plug-ins at the same time (using fine tuning!) to deliver a very cohesive sound, as if your mix was created on an expensive analog equipment. Of course, you can also cancel the order by placing the PSP Saturator before the PSP Impressor – never be afraid to experiment!
PSP Impressor Features:
Wide range of soft knee characteristics
Peak or RMS level detection
External or internal side chain signal with smooth bell filter
An output algorithm that can work as both a brick wall limiter and a soft saturation algorithm to keep peaks above 0dBFS.
