Description: Since its release, Unfiltered Audio’s Sandman has wowed mixer engineers, designers and DJs with its slice and slide features. A delay plugin with a strong narcoleptic bias, Sandman uses the freeze mode of its delay buffer to create stunning loops and structures in which the pitch can be resized, downscaled, reversed, noise-polluted and modulated, transforming and modulating sounds beyond recognition! Using a very short delay time, the shape-shifting Sandman alternately becomes a flanger, stutter generator, wave synthesizer, or percussion resonator. But Sandman also excels at creating traditional echo and stereo ping-pong effects, delivering latency times that range from weak to longer.
The never satisfied, insane testers at Unfiltered Audio took Sandman’s versatility up a few notches. The new Sandman Pro adds seven new delay modes, each with its own set of adjustable controls that greatly expand its audio palette, while at the same time bringing its maximum delay time to a staggering 16 minutes. Use Classic Tape Mode to saturate echoes, loops and structures with virtual tape, wah and vibration. Artifact-free Multi-Tap mode gives you a whopping 16 simultaneous delay lines to freshen up vocals and guitar solos with giant stadium-sized doubling and echo effects! Use Ultra Smooth Reverse Mode for click-free echoes. Unlike other delays, you can modulate the Sandman Pro’s delay time in Modern Instant mode without creating audio tone artifacts – great for smoothly transitioning vocal effects from doubles to echo trails at the end of a phrase. Use the dual mono Pitch Shifter mode to create vocal harmonics, classic shimmer effects, metallic textures, and more. Or use Glitch Shifter for a catchy pitch change that just doesn’t sound right! Modulate the Sleep button in No Echo mode for crazy stuttering and crashing effects. Sandman Pro can sound very clear or very distorted.
But that’s not all. Sandman Pro includes the flagship Unfiltered Audio modulation system, and as of version 1.1, there are now eight different types of modulators, including a dedicated mode for seamless integration with the ROLI Lightpad. Each of Sandman Pro’s controls can be automated using Uniltered’s freely assignable LFOs. You can also modulate parameters using a full-fledged step sequencer – another new feature in v1.1
