The Evolution Roundwound Bass is a vintage J-style electric bass featuring roundwound strings for a bright, crisp tone that cuts through the mix.
We developed the library in collaboration with Rosewood Recording Company, one of Utah’s most respected recording studios. Guy Randle , the company’s owner and engineer, used a lot of analog gear during the recording, including a Neotek analog console, tube preamps, vintage compressors, and other classics. We captured the original direct bass signal, as well as a boosted signal that adds bite and increases richness and sustain.
The samples were performed by experienced bassist Bill Cushenberry . Originally from Burbank, California, his musical career began early and has taken him around the world. Over the years, Bill has been involved in live and studio work in the West, including with The Osmonds and Donny & Marie . He plays a variety of bass guitars, but this particular bass has remained his personal favorite for over forty years.
