Description: Achromic is a guitar library focused on aggressive rhythm guitars for metal or hardcore music.
The library specifically targets key problems commonly found in guitar libraries, such as poor pickup attack and overly complex game engines.
Achromic is the answer when you just want fast, great sounding rhythm guitars.
The playback engine uses a non-repeating algorithm to split the two samples on each side in an RR pattern. This results in a realistic sound and eliminates the βmachine gunβ effect.
In addition to normal sampling, I recorded individual attacks of the atonal peak to overlay on top of the original notes. The customizable user interface gives you full control over the volume of these additional samples when you need an aggressive pickup to overcome severe amp distortion. This same knob also controls the level of attack applied through the Transient Shaper effect on the backend, which results in even more aggressive selection.
No switches. Use low velocities for palm muffling and high velocities for sustain. Additional articulations are displayed on color-coded FX keys (like Pick Scrapes or Dead Notes).
Additional noise samples were recorded individually and had a random chance to trigger on release. The volume and decay of these sounds can be adjusted using the Fret Noise knob in the interface.
For riffs that require extra hard hitting, the Force Downpick switch disables the articulation of the upward hit. This can be automated using the built-in automation of any DAW.
Change the pitch using any MIDI controller or use DAW automation. Achromic also includes additional FX keys such as Pinch Harmonics, Pick Scrapes, and Dead Notes.
Achromic outputs a raw signal (DI), you will need to provide your own audio amplifiers or simulators to really make the sound your own.
Available as a standalone library for NEAT Player or as a library for Kontakt.
