Compression is an extremely important element in every element of the modern mix, and so is the drums. Too little compression and your drums will lack attack and weight. Too much and your drums will sound small and lackluster. Since we are passionate about drums, we wanted to find a solution that would help both beginners and professionals improve their workflow and get great results every time. Introducing Smash and Grab.
Smash – Based on several FET compressors. This side of the compressor helps give your drums length, weight, and size. Ideal for snare drums, rooms and parallel bus.
Grab – Based on several VCA style compressors. This side of the compressor helps bump and attack. Great for kick shaping, tom and overhead control.
Drum Mode is a very simple yet powerful control. Each drum is optimized for its own style, eliminating the headache of finding the right settings, compressor, EQ points and more!
The beef knob is a pre-compressor EQ used to increase the weight of your drums. The EQ points change depending on the selected Drum Type.
Air Knob – This is a post-compressor EQ used to add clarity and brilliance. The EQ points change depending on the selected Drum Type.
The saturation control is extremely versatile, ranging from soft clipping to pure distortion. Great for shaping your drums and helping them cut through the mix.
