Every hit is unique:
Tekno is a synthesizer that generates every drum hit from scratch using a complex, nonlinear virtual analog synthesizer circuit. This means it never plays the same hit twice—a quality that ties it to classic analog drum machines (and largely explains their magic). Compare this to samples, which are static snapshots, and you’ll see that Tekno’s subtleties make your tracks feel more alive.
Tekno allows you to enhance this behavior even further: use the built-in humanization parameters to add variability in timbre, speed, and timing to create more dynamic drum patterns.
With Analog Effects:
Tekno’s built-in effects were created using the same circuit modeling approach as the drum sounds.
Tekno doesn’t have any “copy and paste effects,” but it does have a unique set of color-enhancing options designed specifically for this tool.
Enhance the sound of individual drums with an analog-modeled tape saturator, excitation, and compression. And to make the entire kit shine, use a powerful limiter/clipper that will cut through any mix.

Avoiding Distorted Drum Patterns:
The analog clipper located at the end of the chain plays a key role in creating the Tekno’s energetic sound. However, you’ll need to adjust this effect depending on the intensity of your drum loop. For intense patterns, you’ll need to reduce the “Clip” slider (located in the “Master” section) to avoid distortion. Individual drum hits typically benefit from more aggressive clipping.
There’s no right or wrong answer here, as Tekno is designed to never create digital clipping in your DAW. So listen and adjust the clipping slider and built-in limiter to the right temperature for your track and your performance.
