Description : Designed by Peter Vogel and Kim Ryrie and introduced to the market in 1979, the Fairlight CMI (Computer Musical Instrument (CMI) – Computer Musical Instrument) was one of the first workstations that included sampling, synthesis and sequencing. Heard on countless recordings of pop artists (here are some of them Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Art Of Noise, Duran Duran, Jean-Michel Jarre, Prince), this legendary instrument really changed the sound of 80s music. Although the original instrument was too expensive for most players, Artoria’s CMI V is the exact opposite. was one of the first workstations to cover sampling, synthesis and sequencing in one package. Heard on countless pop records (Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Art of Noise, Duran Duran, Jean-Michel Jarre, Prince to name a few), this legendary instrument truly redefined the sound of music in the ’80s. And while the original instrument was far too expensive for most musicians, the Arturia’s CMI V won’t break the bank.
