Description: In this course I will show you step by step how to create a forest environment from scratch.
From creating vegetation in Speedtree 9 to the final composition in UE5.1. We’ll see how to create textures using Quixel Mixer, terrain to style the background of our scene using Gaea (optional), and create all the necessary shaders to get maximum quality. And we’ll finish with 4K rendering using Movie Render Queue. More details below.

What will I learn?

In Speedtree 9:
Create next generation serval trees with hybrid logic (nanite structure and foliage with shared LODs/imposters)
Create 3D branches to use as textures.
Create an atlas to combine multiple pieces into one texture.
Create foliage models optimized for real-time rendering.

In UE5:
Complex shaders for trunk, foliage, terrain and Megascans assets.
Improved terrain shader with distance blending texture, parallax mapping, RVT, auto logic and masked foliage generation.
Complete composition (procedural placement, lighting, visual effects…)
Creating a Render Using the Movie Render Queue
Description continued:

In Quixel Mixer:
Create several advanced textures with and without animated puddles in UE5.
Export with properly packaged textures.

In Gaea:
Create several landscapes that will be used to decorate the background of our scene.
Export masks to use for texturing in UE5.
In Photoshop:
Replace the colors of some textures.
Increase quality
Combine masks

Important Note:
This course is created in version 5.1, IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that you use the SAME version! If you decide to use a different version, please be aware that you may encounter possible errors not covered in this course.
