This release introduces improvements for professional editors, including a handy new button for group playback and changes to streamline multi-camera workflows.
Gang button for source and program monitors
You can now add a new Gang button that can be added to transport controls for parallel playback on the program and source monitors. Group playback simplifies the comparison of sequences. This is not a new feature, but a new button makes it easier to access and provides a visual indicator when group playback is enabled.
Choose thumbnails for multiple cameras
You can now define which camera view to use as the thumbnail of multiple cameras on the timeline. Instead of the top track in the timeline, the new default thumbnail is Camera A, and you can use keyboard shortcuts to cycle through camera images to preview them and select new thumbnails as needed.
Use keyboard shortcuts to move the poster frame
You can now use the keyboard to batch edit footage with keyboard shortcuts to move the poster frame 10 frames forward or backward – for example, to show a sheet or jump to action in a scene.
Faster subtitle import and update Subtitle
files now load faster and are easier to update. After importing the subtitle file, Premiere Pro scans the file in the background. Once signatures are available, you can use the new Update Signatures From Source command to populate the timeline.
