Feedback Guitar captures the legendary Les Paul at its sonic limits in a large studio. The result is a distinctive ambient pad with two articulation options, perspective shift, and our innovative pitch bend technology first introduced in Hemisphere Guitars .
This library is inspired by the sounds of amps and guitars found in classic rock recordings or live performances where guitars and amps are placed in close proximity to each other. What started out as an experimental project eventually led to the creation of an incredibly useful pad instrument.
It was recorded in the spacious Nave Studio One using a Gibson Les Paul guitar connected to a high-gain amp and a large Marshall cabinet.
“Wild” articulation contains squeals captured due to the guitar’s inherent instability to feedback. However, manual articulation provides a cleaner sound, with samples carefully edited to eliminate this instability.
Hemisphere Guitars programming is implemented according to this scheme , in particular, the “held keys only” bend mode, in which only the held notes are changed, and the sustain remains untouched, which provides more flexible playback.
Basic Controls
• Control the amp’s treble roll-off and drive. Connects to the modulation wheel/CC1 to control the fade-in sound
• Adjust sample length
• Control delay and reverb signal levels with advanced settings in the gear menu
• Switch between near and far perspectives
• Switch between a calm pad sound and a more extreme and harmonically rich reverse sound communications
Settings
• Toggle sampling on and off
• Adjust instrument volume using your MIDI device’s attack input
• Switch between Standard and Held Keys Only band modes. When Held Keys Only is turned on, only the held note will change, while all other sustain notes will retain their original pitch
• Increase the range of bends to 12 semitones
