Description : This library includes a carefully sampled Tibetan singing bowl recorded in near stereo and displayed over a range of four octaves. Two articulations were captured – sustain (created by moving a wooden mallet in a circular motion around the edge of the bowl) and percussion. Both of these articulations were recorded with many dynamic layers, allowing for very subtle and realistic reproduction.
The tool has been programmed with ease of use in mind. Simply move the modulation wheel as you play to seamlessly transition between different dynamic levels. When played, changes in dynamics are often very slow, as the bowl takes time to vibrate and resonate. Setting the “speed” of the control to a low value will simulate this, fading out between dynamic layers.
Another characteristic of the singing bowl is the sound of the hammer, sometimes creating scraping sounds due to friction. Use the Rust knob to add an extra level of noise for sustain.
