Description: Bontabulous Fabtraption conveys vintage analog sounds of the unique Bontempi HP 544-20. This Italian synthesizer was introduced to the market in the late 1970s. It featured a 49-key keyboard and drum / rhythm machine, as well as a variety of knobs and faders to control layer volume, instrument type, envelope, modulation, and filter.
Our Bontabulous features synth sustains, staccato, piano, violin and “Magic Chords” from organ. We also sampled 34 tempo-synced drum machine loops. We recorded the articulation of the instrument in wide stereo and straight line format. After that, we created twenty evolving atmospheric pads from the original content to increase versatility. Bontabulous offers a time travel by ear of the historic Bontempi product line, complete with rich tonal colors ready to enhance any genre of composition.
We’ve provided the GUI with a lot of great sound shaping controls that give you the ability to change the sound in different ways. You have control over volume, attack, decay, transient offset, vibrato, and octave layering. The “Glide” control slider lets you play legato and portamento solos. You’ll also find an adaptable LFO system with selectable LFO shape, modulation target, rate, intensity, tempo sync, and rise time. You can also apply your choice of 13 low-pass, high-pass and FX filters with assignable modulation control parameters, including velocity, mod wheel, expression, aftertouch, key position, and step sequencer table control. You can also use our custom arpeggiator with built-in velocity sequencer table and control over arpeggio direction, note sync, swing, randomization, and duration.
Bontabulous Fabtraption was recorded in a dry studio using a pair of Neumann TLM 103 large diaphragm microphones and direct line input. We have recorded many standard presets with sustains, staccato, magic chord and drum loop samples. The included octaves, vibrato and effects stands give you an easy-to-use interface for fully customizing and shaping its rich analog sound to suit a variety of creative styles.
The library is equipped with flexible control functions such as Swell, pitch Glide, Attack, Release, Vibrato and Octave. There’s also a full rack of DSP effects, including convolutional reverb with dozens of unique spaces such as cathedrals, churches, halls, bunkers, garages, tunnels, cameras, rooms, and a host of otherworldly FX for full exploration and an endless variety of strange and unexpected sound manipulations.
