Noise Gate is not necessarily the most exciting type of plugin for music. But it’s absolutely essential to clean up mixes and recorded audio. RENEGADE is our vision for gating: a simple and non-destructive process. At its core, a dynamics plug-in is as good as its analysis. At the time, we thought the two-band design in COUTURE was the best possible envelope estimate. Indeed, since 2018, Couture has received accolades for its natural sound. In the end we realized that there was room for a more accurate curve calculation. Instead, RENEGATE uses a 43-band, high-Q psychoacoustic model. This detector is even more reliable.
