Description : The Yamaha CS80 synthesizer model was one of the first virtual instruments released under the brand Arturia. The choice is completely natural, because the memory of this instrument has not faded over the years, and the original synthesizer has long become a coveted rarity for many. And this is despite 80 kilograms of mass and the lack of MIDI. But the rich possibilities of sound generation, the eight-part polyphony, combined with the relatively simple (compared to the same modular synthesizers) control system almost instantly turned the CS80 into a legend.
A virtual model can do everything the original could have done, but in addition it has a modulation matrix and a multi layer mode that significantly expands the potential of the instrument. As with all Arturia virtual instruments, “pure” oscillators (no aliasing) work in this model, that is, they do not have an internal “reflection” of frequencies from the upper limit of the range, resulting in the appearance of parasitic sound tones.
