Sounds of China is a deep study of some of the most iconic, traditional Chinese woodwind and stringed instruments. In cooperation with the London Recording Studio Lightship95 we offer you the first products in the long Noiiz Original series.
This package is dedicated to four traditional Chinese stringed instruments and three wooden wind instruments (more correctly “bamboo”), with loops from all seven instruments and single samples of Pipa, Yangcin, Hulusi and Xiao.
This package is not like any other in Noiiz’s collection, and when it comes to genres, the sky is the limit! Experiment with lush melodies from Pipa, fast melodies from Diji or perhaps with more refined instruments such as Yangqing.
Erhu 二胡 : An expressive tool that looks like a “two-stringed vertical bow lute”. This instrument is usually used for both solo and orchestral performances in traditional classical Chinese music. The fluid nature of this instrument makes it sound more melodious in some of the 35 loops in this package.
Guqin 古琴 : A seven-stringed instrument from the family of Zither. Traditionally used by connoisseurs as a tool of refinement. Look at some fantastic harmonics and subtle melodies from the “father of Chinese music”.
Pipa 琵琶 : Chinese four-stringed tool. This tool is extremely popular and has existed for almost two thousand years. In our time it was used by such rock bands as Incubus and guitarist Steve Vai. In this package you will find a combination of gentle and juicy loops, contrasting with cheerful melodies and single samples.
Yangqin 扬琴 : The hammered string dulcimer is from Iran with 144 strings. Playing it with bamboo hammers covered with rubber, the instrument is often used when playing chords and arpeggios to add harmony to orchestras. Yangqin’s loops in this package are full of beautiful harmonies and contain a mixture of complex and simple rhythms. Single samples consist of separate notes.
Dizi 笛子 : Traditional bamboo flute, used in Chinese folklore, opera and in modern orchestral pieces. Dicyz’s Loops
use advanced techniques such as trills, circular breathing (to achieve continuous sound), fast tongue, shooting notes and slides.
Hulusi 葫蘆絲 : Wind instrument, built of three bamboo tubes and a pumpkin chest. Hulusi’s hinges are full of silky smooth timbres, ideal for creating a unique texture for your project. Single samples are split into short and long versions for easy management.
Xiao 箫 : Another Chinese flute, often made of bamboo. Single samples Xiao were divided into short and long versions for convenience. Equipped with an extensive collection of warm and saturated loops recorded in key G.
