The Ultimate Heavy Drums is an extremely versatile drum kit. It boasts 14 different snare drums, 10 different kick drums, 3 tom sets, and a wide selection of cymbals. These impressive sounds are honed and refined to perfection. The instrument also has an incredibly valuable arsenal of built-in mixing features.
Engineered and recorded by Josh Middleton, a multi-award winning guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and producer from the UK. Josh has produced and mixed numerous bands throughout his career (Sylosis, Architects, Kreator, Heriot, Nakkeknaeker, Malevolence).

Tilt EQ
Tilt EQ lets you brighten or darken any element of your kit with a simple horizontal fader. I wanted this library to be fully processed and ready to mix as soon as you opened it, but being able to fine-tune the brightness or darkness of each element gives you even more control over the sounds in your mix.

Transient Designer
This allows you to increase or decrease the attack and sustain of each individual part of the kit to provide maximum control over the punch and sustain of every element of your mix.

Envelope Filters
Envelope filters also allow you to control the attack, sustain, and release of each kit part, but in a different way than the transient designer. Rather, they act as a gradual fade in/out. Combining the sustain and release functions can allow you to hear the full sustain and resonance of a drum, but add a sharper decay. For example, this technique can allow the drums to “sing” with a good initial sustain, but control the sharper decay to balance the duration of the latter.

One-shot Sample Loader
One-shot samples are single-hit samples that can be loaded into Kontakt to combine with library sounds. Both the kick and snare mixers have one-shot sample slots. In addition to the library, WAV samples of the kick and snare single hits from the library are included so you can combine different sounds in your mixes.

Pitch and Reverb
Pitch – Like every other mixing feature in the instrument, pitch control also works on each individual element of the kit. This can open up even more possibilities for coloring the sound of the drums. This is especially useful when changing the characteristics of the snare. It can also be used to match the pitch or phase of any one-shot samples you want to use.
Reverb – Have complete control over the amount of reverb you want to use for each element of the kit.

Slate Trigger Files
In addition to the library, a folder containing the Slate Trigger TCI files is included in the distribution . These are the library’s multi-velocity sounds in TCI format . These are pre-processed and ready-to-mix sounds that you can load into your mixes to get the same kick, snare, and tom sounds as in the Kontakt library. They contain samples of a close mic, a boom stereo mic, and a stereo room mic for all kicks, snares, and toms. To use these files, you must use the Slate Trigger plugin .
