Publisher : Cinesamples
Website : cinesamples
Format : KONTAKT 5.6.8+
Quality : 24 bit 44.1 kHz stereo

Description : Another great addition to the Cinesamples’ Artist Series is the library, which is a collection of three pianos recorded on the stage of MGM Scoring Stage and Hollywood Scoring Studios in Los Angeles, California. It contains various advanced playing methods used by student musician Los Angeles, Randy Kerber.
A few years ago, we recorded The Nami’s Theme, a duet by Randy Kerber (piano, Randy’s Celeste) and Amy Tatum (flute) when recording on The Bridge. During one of the breaks, Randy began playing with some sort of museum putty inside the piano, giving the instrument a subtle, masked and suggestive underwater tone. It was such a smart and unusual sound that we decided to create an extended piano solo entirely from Randy’s trained piano technician.
We always talked about recording a library of samples of these sounds and much more, and this year we finally got to that. Randy, known for his sensuality and tone, is one of the greatest movie musicians of all time. Although he mainly composes music now, we were able to invite him to the studio to lead this project.
Articulation selector – In the upper right corner is a drop-down menu of various articulations. There are separate tools for each articulation.
PEDAL VOL : adjusts the volume of the pedal mechanism of the piano. By default, this is a delicate pedal effect. Click “Hard” for more aggressive action.
HAMMER VOL : adjusts the volume of the hammer blow
DYNAMIC RANGE : Lower levels increase the volume of softer samples. Higher levels increase the difference between quiet and loud samples.
Equalizer : Apply a 4-band equalizer to each mix perspective separately. Select a mixing perspective, then adjust the gain and frequency for each band. Keep in mind – resetting the equalizer in one mix perspective does not reset the equalizer in others. Check other perspectives of the active mix to see if the equalizer is active.
Mixer : There are 5 mixing perspectives: Full, Close A, Close B, Close C, and Room. The full mix is a combination of Close C and The Room. Close A, B and C are different pairs of microphones, each of which offers a unique texture. Below each mix, you can speed up or delay playback of a +/- 100 ms sample using the slider from left to right. Each mixer allows left-right swap (LR), phase inversion (Ø), stereo extension (select Haas or Mid / Side), left-right panning, reverb send (PRE or POST fader) and gain.
The mixer also includes reverb type and return, as well as an attack setting to soften the attack of each note, creating a more kinetic sound. Higher attack values will decrease the sound volume.
